Updated March 16, 2020

Dear Michigan Burn Families & Staff,

Federal, state and local authorities have declared states of emergency with new guidelines for sports, socializing, and meeting in groups.  U.S. Soccer, United States Youth Soccer (USYS) and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) have also provided new guidance within the last few days in accordance with public health and government guidelines, which we must and will follow for the protection of our players, families, staff and our community.

To comply with Executive Order 2020-9 from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and to benefit the health and safety of each of our players, families and staff, we are SUSPENDING all soccer training, games, and participation in tournaments and other team activities through Sunday, April 5, 2020.  We will continue to monitor the situation to determine if we may safely begin some form of team training and/or match play before April 5, 2020.

Under Executive Order 2020-9, effective Monday, March 16 at 3:00 p.m., the following places of public accommodation will be closed; restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bars, taverns, brewpubs, distilleries, clubs, movie theaters, indoor and outdoor performance venues, gymnasiums, fitness centers, recreation centers, indoor sports facilities, indoor exercise facilities, exercise studios, spas, and casinos.

The Michigan Burn Coaching staff is creating and preparing to implement online, at-home individual training programs, activities and challenges that our players can do in their homes, backyards, schools or parks. We believe it is important for our players to stay physically active while continuing to offer them opportunities to develop as a soccer player. More information about online training, activities and player challenges will be coming via email in a few days.

Be safe, be healthy
